Gives a great picture in my head! Amazing how you turn a simple canoing moment into a beautiful poem. I loved the river/quiver rhyme. "Towards where the river runs, till the end of time" might flow better if it said 'until,' without any break. And "With only a breath of wind, to make the water quiver" does not need a comma. Awesome writing!

Forgive my literary knuckleheadedness but is this a haiku? I love poetry even though I kinda suck at writing it and this was a good example of it! :)
