AStrangerToYou 2008-10-29 . chapter 1
That's amazing, I almost cried! The last three lines are really powerful, but so is the whole poem. I honestly really liked this and I don't know what else to say about it. It's just really good. :)

Very true. So often, people mistake admiration for love. They're certainly not the same thing. I definitely have people whom I admire. Some of them, I love, too. Some of them I don't love in the normal sense of the word, because it's hard to love someone you don't know personally, especially if they're dead or something. :)

On the flip side, there are also people whom I love dearly but don't necessarily admire. And I'm closer to them than the people I admire but don't necessarily love. We all have our tin soldiers and our velveteen rabbits. The soldiers are nice to look to for inspiration, but the rabbits are the ones who can truly provide comfort and companionship.

So...both are important, but if I had to choose just one, I'd rather have the rabbit. Every time. And I'd rather be a rabbit, too. :) (carries the metaphor a little too far and hops away, then realizes there's something else to say and hops back)

I like that you have explanations at the beginning and the end. It's nice to see where a poem comes from.
