I simply adore this story and I'm heading off straight away to read the sequels. And... well, I'm not really a good reviewer, so I can't really give you a detailed analyses of what made your story so great, but it -is- great. I love an author who can balance plot and characters and romance so nicely.

Eek! I really, truly, honestly liked this. This was fun, honest, and just -- I really liked it. I know that this isn't making much sense, and to make sense I'd have to start analysing stuff -- e, character development!, and e, KEYD!, and SQUEE! -- but. dude. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would when I clicked this little story, and I am so, so glad that I did.

This is the first full length story I've begun reading in quite a while, and I must say I really enjoyed it. I found it on the Sweet Revolution Awards site.

You paced the story really well, and I never found myself getting bored. One thing that really impressed me was that when Alan was doubting who the good guys were, so was I. That can be really difficult to pull off - often things that the character is conflicted over seem quite plain to the reader. This made it very easy to empathise with Alan, as I was able to share in many of his feelings.

Another thing you did well was balance the way Rysa and Keyd reacted to the various stresses Alan was put under. They neither coddled him or were excessively cruel - not beyond Keyd's understandable aloofness, anyway. Well done avoiding the emoness of both extremes.

Overall, I found all of your characters to be believable and easy to relate with, and the storyline well paced and engaging. Oh, and the magic! That was excellent - very interesting and different from the mainstream. I particularly loved the frog spider thing, with all its glowy honking glory. I want one.

I shall now go and explore your other writings, starting with the sequel to this story! Thank you for a good read.

Wow. It's one in the morning and I know I should have been doing homework instead of reading it but who on this website hasn't suffered grade wise to finish a story? Some things I'd like to know more about is what does Martin think of this, and what's up with Ahieel and everyone they seem to have a lot of history and he seems pretty okay with Rysa other than she's an Oenclar, I'd really like to know more about him. Well I'm off to read the rest of series!

Alan felt very real. When he let Ahieel in, it seemed so random, but then I remembered that when they first met he couldn't help but give Rysa what ever she wanted too. It must he a magic thing.

That had to be one of *the* most awesome stories I've read in quite a while. Actually, one of the best to be added to my favorites list. :3 (Only thing missing is some more hot-and-heavy between Keyd and Alan, but really, the story is perfect as is.) Thanks for such a lovely story!

Well, I have to say I love this story (very interesting magic concept) and cannot believe you managed to write it and do nano at the same time. I start subconsciously looking for a nice several story drop to jump off every time I think about it.

Also, (and my enthusiasm for this may be due to reading too much fanfiction) but your grammar is very good for something unbeta'd. There's annoying things like "kind of" in there, but that's easily overlooked because the story is set up as a sort of...-_- I've been trying to figure out what it's called for three minutes now. But it is rather like the main body of the story is a character's dialogue. Whatever that's called. (First Person...oh. yep, that's it. *bashes head*)

Anyway, I look forward to reading more, and please keep writing!

The slow pacing of the relationship just makes it more real, somehow...
and I can never wait to see what happens in the next chapter powers/plot-wise, too.

This story was completely awesome! I love how you didn't rush into the relationship from chapter one. It kept me wondering when Keyd and Alan were going to get together. I was so relieved when Rysa accepted Alan and Keyd's relationship. I mean, I was pretty sure she would, but it was still kind of nerve-racking! I'm going to read the next story in this series. Um... Yeah, I really loved this I kind of suck at reviews, don't I? =P

wow! lol. I completely got sucked in. I should have reviewed more for this story, but reading about Keyd, Rysa, and Alan makes you not want to stop. I was a little worried at first that this story might be more of a humor story and frankly I don't really like those, but it's not and there's a lot of plot.lol. :) I like it though. I'm interested in what's happening to Alan and his golden eyes. I wonder about Keyd's new power too. great job!

so when Rysa says his roommate left, since she told him that Alan was ill -- can she talk to him in frequency after all? I thought the whole problem was that she couldn't talk to him, because he was normal and had no unrealized abilities or anything.
