Well written but a little beyond me. I was confused.
"nightfall, and the darkness fills me; all encompassing the moon a dulled, silent witness, lost in the sky." I would re phrase that, something like.

Nightfall and the "coming" darkness fills me. The all encompassing moon,a dulled silent witness lost in the sky.

It was interesting, I wounder were your going with it.
