This story was much more interesting to me. I'm excited to learn more about the book and how it relates to the man in the library. My one problem with this chapter is Gep's sudden willingness to help out. I would think it'd take some prodding or some other reason for him to leave everything behind to follow a crazed Paelin.

This wasn't my favorite chapter. I felt like it was kind of meandering and a bit boring, kind of like a setup for something to come rather than part of the story.

I like the elder. It might have been nice if he had a name! Also, I like how it's almost like a short story by itself, and not just a chapter in a story. Interesting concept. I also wonder if it has something to do with the book that Paelin found?

The prologue has me hooked, though it does seem a bit melodramatic. But I'm definitely not one to talk! Looking forward to more.
