under the influence 12/2/09 . chapter 2oh...I like the idea that there was an 'incident' with another teacher... |
blueangel916 10/18/09 . chapter 48honestly, I never noticed the problem. I always just thought was that is how she dealt with the pain and hurt by throwing a snarky remark out there. But alas, if that is how you feel, you are the author and if you think it will make the story better then i trust your judgement. I love your stories and look forward to more :D |
FrankCastleCM09 9/17/09 . chapter 47Well, I just finished the final chapter and I must say I'm very impressed with how this turned out. I've always really liked your work but honestly, I think this is a step above your previous work, as far as how the characters developed and how the story progressed. I very much enjoyed it and by the number of comments I assume a lot of other did as well. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the obstinate rose. I'm looking forward to start reading the sequel. I also wanted to apologize because I know it took me an awfully long time to read through and finish completely, and for that I'm sorry. I wish I would've finished this sooner because it really was excellent and I really admire how well you developed everything out. I just wanted to share my thoughts and I'll be sure and leave some reviews once I start on the sequel. Thanks ) -Chris |
QueenOfProcrastonation 8/30/09 . chapter 16Hello there. I read the original The Rose and the Thorn kind of a long time back and I really liked it. I see you've taken it down and I was wondering why. Also, I can't tell if this is supposed to be a spin off of that story, a revised version, or what. The plot confuses me a lot... It jumps around and seems to have unexplained parts... Maybe I'm just confused because I'm unconsciously trying to relate it to The Rose and the Thorn. Thanks |
Your Execution 8/25/09 . chapter 47I loved this story and i really look forward to reading the sequel :D |
A.L. Marks 8/25/09 . chapter 45OH SNAP! Sorry, I'm just absolutely obsessed with this story and can't wait (seriously, I can't wait so get going!) for the sequel! I'm in the process of reading the original, and then I think I'm going to read every other piece of writing you have because I simply LOVED this story ) Rose (as I've taken to calling her) and Dan are just incredible characters. You've described them so that they are completely believable in their faults and strengths. I'm guessing that one of things people found to be off-putting was all the Christianity, but personally I loved it. I think it added a whole new perspective to the story, and quite frankly it was what really made the story what it was. Were it not for Dan searching for answers in the Bible, then the story would be completely different and it's amazing the way it is. All right. I've left this insanely long review. Just to reinforce the whole purpose of it: write the sequel. now. Oh, and I adored this. (: -Alaina |
ByYourSide 8/23/09 . chapter 2Such an awesome beginning! I love that you write Christian fiction now. That's awesome. Really. The world needs more. :DD I like that Bekah's father left and that she drinks now, and I also like the backstory with Mr. Towers. I haven't read the other Bekah Rose stories save for a few chapters of the original, but so far this is definitely my favorite. This storyline interests me the most so far, by far. I'm loving it. I can't wait to see what happened with Mr. Towers and what will happen with Bekah, Mr. Fields and, most importantly, Jesus. Keep on keeping on, Subsequent :) |
blueangel916 8/2/09 . chapter 46First off...sorry i haven't reviewed in like forever...stupid job...haha. Second off...please tell me that isn't the end! Please please please...you write the whole thing out marvously just to have Dan leave it just doesn't fit..sure it isn't the happily ever after...i wasn't expecting such...but that...that was just not cool...not after everything they went through...it was like her mother planned for that to happen, it doesn't go along with how you built Dan's personilty to just up and leave. thirdly, i still love the story and the last few chapters although i was slightly confused when she woke up in bed i thought Dan was still there...i just had to reread it. are you doing an epilogue or is that it? |
Lady R 7/20/09 . chapter 46 I guess I don't see it as the end, knowing that the second book is coming. But I'm not waiting for an epilogue to this. |
Sugar Teardrops 7/18/09 . chapter 46Most definitely waiting/hoping/begging for an epilogue (or the start of the next book that continues Dan and Bekah's story). Without a doubt, you are one of my favorite author's on the site, and I hope you continue to post here. I hope to see a story that does end Dan's and Bekah's saga ;). |
brwneydbeuty1 7/18/09 . chapter 45 i think the cahpter is in need of a divider where she feints and with her flashes to dans goodbye. i cried my self 2 sleep after reading that last chapter - and that is highly unusual 4 me. I understand that dan had 2 leave in order for their love 2 mean more in the bigger span of things but i feel as though i was crushed along side bekkah when he left. Pls write a epilogue and a 2nd book. maybe bekkah and dan cld meet years later and b more mature like "a walk in the rain"- that way it cld b a better influence and have a superb plot. You are an amazing writer btw. i wish there was a guy just like dan fields out there- i'm ashamed 2 say ive actually fallen 4 a fictional character! Do you really know some one like him? im only 16 but your writing has opened my eyes to a whole new world, thank you ) |
kynthiaphellan 7/18/09 . chapter 46And the sequel will be up when? If there is one. |
pbgurl 7/17/09 . chapter 46No! No epilogue, please. The way this ended was perfecto! It really sets up well for the sequel :) I can't wait for the sequel, I'm very excited for it! -Liz :D |
n.p-simmons 7/17/09 . chapter 46*chanting*EPILOGUE! EPILOGUE! EPILOGUE! EPILOGUE! Okay, it was good. Perhaps a sequel? |
Lady Knight 1512 7/17/09 . chapter 46Oh God, I hope they're not waiting for an epilogue. I really like the way you've left things here because it will merge into Book 2. I can't imagine why people haven't left reviews, though. I was expecting a fair few as well. *sigh* |
