i really liked it.
you have a great story, and the flow of it is nice. i love the character of Nik. and of course Matt too. in future chapters, are Nik and Matt going to be getting visited my Matt's cousins? i think that would be a really great chapter. then they could all have a really big tournament of Guitar Hero, or Rockband...anyways. :)
i can't wait for you to update again, because this story is really going in a good direction.

I loved it. There are no other words to describe my own anticipation at wanting to know who would all be on the team. Phew! My brain feels like it's melting too, so much suspense! O:

But yay! Both of them are on the team, and they're all moved in to their dorm rooms. :3 Good.

Awesome! You updated! You have no idea how happy I was to see this in my inbox. :) I like what you did with this chapter. It seemed a little rushed at times, maybe, but that's understandable considering the circumstances under which you wrote/posted it. That said, I think you did a good job with conveying Nikolai's emotions and his determination to have some independence. I really liked the part where you mentioned him buying his own clothes and being so proud to return the ones he'd been borrowing from Matt. Stuff like that really helps me get a "feel" for him and the way he thinks. I felt of pang of sympathy for him when he and Matt were moving all their stuff into their rooms, and Matt literally *filled* his while Nikolai had, what, one or two bags and some bedding? Definitely gotta get that boy some *stuff*, he deserves it after the tough time he's had so far.

Speaking of "tough times", I'm kind of wondering if his dad will ever make a re-appearance? Showing up randomly somewhere, a phone call, turning up at one of Nik's practices/games or at his work or something? I'd be interested to see how he'd react to his dad popping up again, especially after he's lived with the Lutias for a while and has started to grow a backbone and get some self-confidence.

Anyway, I was insanely glad to see this update and I'm hoping for another chapter soon! You've got me hooked. :)

I don’t know if I’ve ever actually reviewed this story (my bad!) bit it totally deserves to have like 800 review if not more! I honestly have to say it’s one of my favourite stories I’ve read of FP, because you keep it realistic, and I love that.

Nikolai is abused, and he acts that way, if you know what I mean. Just because he’s with the Lutia’s everything isn’t rainbows and sunshine, because he still shows signs of what he’s been through. I hate when writers pluck the character from an abusive situation and then everything is suddenly okay.

I will admit that I’ve actually read this whole story twice while waiting for you to update it, and I was so excited to see this in my mailbox this morning, but it killed me to sit through school all day knowing that this was waiting to be read.

I like have your characters have their own personalities, and seem three dimensional and are not flat.

So, love it! Can’t wait for you to update it again, hoping you have more motivation to work on this in the near future – totally looking forward to it.

No way, this chapter was awesome! I don't know so much about hockey, but you captured the fast paced action of it in this chapter really well. I was riveted to the spot just reading, imagining the whole scene in my head. Good job.

And haha, Nik is an animal on the ice, I love it! XD I can't wait until he loosen's up more, he's got a personality under there, I am excited to see it. ^-^

Glad to see you're back. Great chapter once again. I think it was great to see the hockey aspect of the story (even though I know zilch about hockey) and a needed break from the heavy stuff.

I was thrilled to see that the trial went well for Nik (and Matt). You do action sequences very well. I hope to see more of Andrew Laurent soon; I like him a lot. He is the character that stands out the most for me to read.

No worries about the lateness. I understand. I was just thinking of this story a few days ago, and here you are with a new chapter!

Not a bad chapter. Kinda awkward in the transitions in a couple places. Namely, where it starts out with Matt and then shifts to Nik, and again when they're eating dinner and feeling nervous, then shifts to the next day when they're on their way to practice. Nothing too horrible, but possibly something that can be revised later on.

Also, should I feel worried about Dom adding Nik to his insurance? I just get a bad feeling something is going to happen where that comes into play. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

As for your trouble with writing, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one going through a tough patch here!
