I've been to family gatherings like that. One Christmas when I was a kid, my mother's family (she's one of thirteen) gathered at our house and an uncle videotaped it, but not one of us who lived in the house appeared on the tape at all.

I admit, most of what I have been reading and seeing makes me happy that my family doesn't celebrate Christmas. I'm happy for Armand - loneliness is horrible. Lovely story - sparse and heartwarming, which fits.

Hm...the no tv part made me feel lonely. But at least he had a 'friend' for christmas! ^^

The whole 'licking of slick armpit' thing majorly squicked me - but I don't really think the story did much for me in any way other than that. It certainly wasn't bad - you're as well-written as ever - but it was more like one of those passing things...

Aww man, that was super cute. The hopeless romantic cheeseball inside wants to fall in love one chistmas. I thought the choice of coupling in this was very adorable too. :)

Your writing just keeps getting better and better. I like the cadence of this it seems to mirror Armando's personality. While I was reading this, especially the allusion to sex, "Upstairs in bed...", I thought, not for the first time, I'm going to be browsing in a bookstore one day and unwittingly happen upon something you've written.
