Thanks a bunch for planting the incredibly disturbing image of those eyeball-less skeletons into my brain. I'm sure I can sleep soundly tonight.
This reminded me of Edgar Allan Poe's writing. Not the writing style, of course, but the elements in it. The grim descriptions of the house's interior gives it a slightly gothic feel, the raw terror of the protagonist helps her seem more real, and the overall creepiness of the ending gave me chills. Nothing less from a great writer, huh?
By the way, this is an essay? If my school assigned essays like this, I'd be far more willing to write them. Hope you got a good grade on it!
