Lovely ending. Lovely story, actually.
Hollyivy 2009-11-19 . chapter 1
oh! oh! yay! a sequel!

Dammit. You keep making me sad. It was really, really good, but Kastor still makes my head spin and I miss Mikah. My eyes, my head, and my heart hurt. I'm having all kinds of crazy hunches about everything. But I'm very interested to see what everybody gets up to in the next installment. Just a quick aside, sometimes it seems as if the plot is sort of thrown in there as an afterthought. But still, very well written.

This chapter makes me sad. I hate to see Kastor and Charis separated again. I don't quite see how Kastor bears up under the weight of everything. His emotions are a bit...confusing. Well, one chapter left. I'm curious as to what will happen now.

I liked reading from Serifar's POV. It mixes it up a little. Keeps it fresh.
tarryfairy 2009-10-18 . chapter 3
Oh, Kastor. He's doing pretty good at being a father for having such little practice at it. This is very good so far; it's kept me interested and engaged just as well with the family focus and random encounters on the road as the last did with doomed love and a fight to save the world. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

(Everyone once in a while, when Kastor thinks about Mikah, I feel that bittersweetness and I miss him too. Good job with that, even though it makes me feel as if someone I actually knew had died.)

o i am liking this series. kastor is just so...endearing, in an odd sort of way. he seems like a bundle of contradictions, in some ways. he's pretty well read and obviously enjoys learning, but he's also sort of 'uncivilized' and wild yet. and he seems at once deeply complex and startlingly simple. he seems so far beyond his years sometimes, and then suddenly he seems to fit his age and show his youth. i kind of love it- it makes for a very interesting character. and charis and serifar- adorable. i love how intelligent and resourceful charis is, and it was interesting to see some of the process of serifar's growth and maturation. not to say that he was 'mature' by the end there, but moreso than when kastor first found him- notably less naive. and stiaan. i had wondered at the end of the first story if he would reappear and i must say i'm glad he has. i'm growing to really like him as well.

now. i'm off to read what there is of the third chronicle and hope longingly for you to update it. :)

Really liked this one.

Let me guess - the second god is the Death-God guy. You were being aa little bit obvious, what with the whole 'tomb' thing, and Kastor looking like the picture of him... And then having the characters mention but discard that idea.

I'm too tired of saying the same thing about all your stories. Lol, saying they're "Awesome" again and again is getting old, even to me.

You'll just have to imagine me saying it about the rest because I fell unoriginal as shit to be saying the same thing over and over again.

:)

PS: I am definitely one of your fans.

This didn't feel like a story so much as the first part of one. So many of the story thread have yet to be resolved.

You have a 'have' instead of a 'gave' at the very end of the prologue.

I like Stiaan. I liked Mikah too, but Mikah was more of a bedroom companion because he and Kastor were so cruel to each other out of it. Stiaan on the other hand could easily become a friend.

When Stiaan explained his origins, I was reminded that he was under the sway of the demon crown (what ever it was called) for such as small part of his very long life.

Hello!

I read all 24 chapters (book 1 and 2) and it really got me hooked. I do somewhat enjoy the cryptic notes that you fit into and when you reveal it later on we go "ah so thats what it means".

Your style is mostly easy to follow and enjoyable to read, though some parts just made me feel like skipping it to get to the juicy bits.

I do feel bad that you only got 4 reviews for this story, it was extremely enjoyable (spent an afternoon reading through everything) and it was fun.

I would admit that the summary from the page did deter me from reading a couple of times, and I finally decided to read book 1 cause of the slash warning (lol!). But I do not have any regrets and am very thankful for picking up this story. Perhaps you could rewrite the summaries and make them more, "hooking", for a lack of a better word.

Do keep it up, I am going on to read book 3 right now, so I will leave a note there as well.

Chers!

Alright. It has to be said. Sorry if you completely disagree, but I'm gonna say it anyways. (For the record, I feel completely unqualified to critique your work… but I’m still going to do it.)

One huge pet peeve of mine is sequels that serve mainly to lead up to the next book. I think it's why everyone hates the second part of anything, but they'll love the third. Yes, as always, book two was amazing and while I'd be the first to admit it had its moments, frankly, the ending was anti-climatic. Yes, book two has its own plot that was important and was resolved, but compare the ending to book one to book two. Book one: I have a death grip on the pillow I'm crying into as I read the final chapters. Book two: "Well, that was interesting. We got to go more in depth on something mentioned in book one, and we got more information on that pesky key! Wonder what's going to happen in book three?" Not that Charis and Kastor's relationship was some fluffy little sojourn. It's just as much as you gave the cake your metaphorical culinary awesomeness, you made it with key-flavored flour ground from book one. You built the whole story around giving the audience information about the key, which I'm already quite certain is what will be resolved in book three, and decorated it up with Kastor moving on with his life and reconnecting with his son (again, for lack of better word) awesomeness.

I hope I'm getting my point across properly. And hey, maybe you completely disagree and think that book two is perfect just the way it is and so on. And yes, I realize you can’t just go around jerking the audience’s heart out just to have a huge emotional response at the end of every book, but the way you based the whole story around key just screamed sloppy sequel to me. When I got to the end, all I could think about was the fact that there had to be a third book because you set it up that way when I probably should have been reflecting on the new relationships Kastor formed with Stiaan and Charis and Rema. Do I have any suggestions as to how to avoid this? Heck no! You’re the genius author here. I’m just the reader who gets to sit back and point out what I thought was bad. >:) Sorry. We've all got our roles to play.

So there you go! Had to be said, and I said it!
FanoraJane 2009-02-08 . chapter 12
Wow...you are a genius. I can't wait for the rest.
TheSiner 2009-01-10 . chapter 1
Oh, this was as good as the first part, maybe even better, Ok, maybe not, because mikah is gone, but Charis was charming and surprisingly unannoying, which doesn't happen that often with kids in hobby-fiction and has to be complimented.
I usually like fics with a lot of angsty romance in them (guilty), but this one I enjoyed immersely even without the main character doing a lot of hot lovin'- so, yes, it was good.
I liked the parts about people- they are not particulary good, they are not bad, mostly just selfish and cowardly, they are as they are and you accept that or you get angry, whatever, doesn't change anything. \and \kastor just says f**k them, and rides away.
Please write another story, please. Kastor is a character with so many opportunities.
Amanda 2008-12-29 . chapter 12
Really like these stories.
Far as I knew though, moss agates aren't banded- they look like moss.
So saying it has a bullseye pattern seems weird, it would make more sense if Stiaan's ring were a normal sort of banded agate, yeah?
(I don't know for sure though, I'm only really used to Lake Superior agates, and how many of them will fit into my pockets.)

Thanks for writing fun-to-read stuff!
