Hmm, hmm, hmm. I have FINALLY got around to reading this xD, after much delay. I must say, and this might just be me being arrogant and reading too much into coincidence, but I'm SO sure I picked up quite a few references to something I wrote once?? I might be wrong, but if I'm right: I was rather flattered to read this :D.

It was just little things like the name 'Harper', the time of year, the hair colour, the gifts, the broken voice etc. etc. If I'm totally wrong: sorry!!

But yes, all that aside: the parallel narrative in this was fantastic! Very tricky to pull off, but you did it justice ^^.

The only part I had a little trouble believing was the bit at the end: "I love you.”

“Why?”

“Just because.”

Would you really ask someone why they loved you when they made the statement for the first time...? Just a thought ^^.

The last line was very understated and powerful :D. So overall: nicely done!
