I had been looking for something really awful to read, to make myself feel better by comparison...but then I saw the summary for this, and read it...and was totally taken aback.

The angelic imagery...and the broken wings...and "You look up at the beautiful, white angel flying high, high above you, and you know that even if you manage to get out of these waters, you won't be anything else than a fallen angel with dirtied, rumpled wings and a missing halo." were incredibly beautiful and haunting. I'm going to favourite this.
