Oh my gosh, this was sad and sweet. It made me cry! Laurie and Jack's relationship is really cute and I'm glad that she had Jack to fall back on when she was vulnerable. Great one-shot! And I agree with one of your other reviewers, DancingChaChaFruit really is everywhere!

my goodness, this is amazing. sincere, frank, tender, sweet, and so direct, i almost felt like this story was looking straight at me the entire time. which is kind of weird, considering that's it a story...

anyhow. i can't believe this doesn't have more reviews and whatnot, but i'm sure it'll get more over time; this is great. i actually went and bought that red hot chili peppers song right now..not only did the lyrics take on a whole new meaning to me, the tune is actually pretty sweet. i've always liked red hot chili peppers but never really got into much of their stuff..

anyhow. okay, and one last random PS...DancingChaChaFruit is pretty much everywhere, aren't they? I guess, she, really. I mean, I go to 'Sally Can Wait', read some of her stories and DancingChaChaFruit is mentioned. Came to yours...same. Went to hers, read some stories...awesome.

Um, my only criticism, (and it's not really even criticism, it's just a suggestion, which is pointless) is where she says "Ross molested me."

I just can't picture someone saying "he molested me..."

I just can't. But then again, there really is no point in changing it. So... congratulations on a fantastic story!

This actually kind of means a lot to me, seeing as I am in love with a girl named Laurie and I fought a freak named Ross because he was calling her a **, among other things. Of course, he was a year older and quite a bit stronger, so I was flattened D:
Chivalry doesn't always work, but hey! It's worth it in the end!

That was absolutely beautiful and I'm sorry that such a thing happened to you. You're very brave for putting out something like this, I know I could hardly even tell my closest friends about my own similar experiences. I'll be looking forward to more writing by you. wow that must have been horrible to go through, I'm so sorry. I'm only a fourteen year old and have no idea what the world is like but I know this much; Anyone like Ross is not worth dwelling on. Give him a big slap for all the crap he made you go through. And like 'Jack' said, God would definitely not be mad at you for something like that. This story made me think a little differently, so thank you and I pray God watch over you for all time and guard you.

P.S. Maybe He made you go through that so that you and 'Jack' would help each other, and so you can grow even more in your faith?

wow...i'm so sorry something like this happened to you. I hope that you had the strength to report "Ross". I know a few seniors in Cornell's Marching Band, and could never imagine anyone in band hurting someone else. You guys are like a family.

This was an extremely good story. "lyk srsly." But no, seriously, it was. It was well-written, and very, very heartfelt and emotional and even a person like me who has (luckily) not experienced this, I still felt connected to the characters. (Which means your writing is awesome.)
I was so shocked when I read your author's note, and it's wonderful that writing this has helped you cope. I'm glad your own story has a (as happy as it can be) ending.
