Wow...that really makes you think! I had to do a report on MoV last year...gosh, I hated it. I read it twice: Once in old English and once in Modern English. You're view of it as a cynical romance is cool...especially your description of Portia. I didn't see her as that cruel, but after reading this, I may have to re-read the play. Good work!
