liked this, liked this. Hate those drunken non-fun parties that i always seem to go to, and play the part of Irvine (but less wasted) - this was represented well, here.

i like Carl more and more as time goes on... but i like Irvine, too, despite him being slightly delusional, ahhaa... this story is very summery and saturated, i like it a lot.

I don't know why it took me so long to get round to reading the last 3 chapters, but i'm glad i did. :D I love your characters, your token Jimmy, and how utterly adorable Carl is (i want to keep him in a box and feed him skittles) Eaferly looking forward to your next update. :)

i really like irvine trying to think of the title and coming up with "ships that carry the night during winter when our hearts frost over hastily." i mean, seriously. and i'm beginning to hate jimmy.

This story is excellent. I really love Irvine's character and I love how you keep his voice consistent all the way through. I've read so many stories that begin with a sarcastic, dry or blunt character and the VERY MOMENT a good looking boy comes into the story, they suddenly become all googly and melty. I'm thrilled that Carl and Irvine haven't just said 'oh, you're attractive, you like men? well me too! Let's find the closest bed!' Phew...apologies for the rant. Anyway, I think you have a great writing style and your characters are dynamic and each have a strong and interesting voice...which is where a lot of the humour is drawn from. The humour comes from their mannerisms as opposed to slapstick actions. Carl is a sweetie, and I agree about people that are sweet to animals althoug I do also conform to the typical female protocol of finding men holding babies adorable...especially if they don't want to and they are 100 percent awkward. Anyway...sorry for rambling off-track again (it's late, the coffee is flowing. Can you tell that I simply adore this story? Thanks for the great read. Xx

Your stories tend to fill me with joy in a slightly twisted way and this one is no exception.
Also, you've got to love purple-clad zookeepers and fusty old libraries.

this really reminds me of when i was doing work experience in Waterstones and it was BLISSFULLY sunny outside. people kept coming in dressed like they were at the beach, despite only being in Burton-on-trent. THE most depressing thing ever.

but i love this! the characters are so distinctive, and i tingle a little bit whenever Carl comes over, even though irvine is a bastard to me Ci, Comme Ça. I am seriously enjoying this, and made an irritated noise when i realised there were only three chapters ;D

i do rather like this story. and i like irvine. especially his name. and hippies are nice, even if cliches can be lame. i don't know. it's interesting. i've always fancied the idea of working in a library, too...
