Most stories to do with spousal abuse I steer clear of, but yours has good dialogue and it's a lot more sincere than most are. Also, you ended on a good line: always a plus.

This is a great story and I think that it was a great idea to have the detectives look like good guys with hearts for a change. There is only one thing that I noticed was that in the beginning the child's name was Serenity then it changes to Rina and then to Rena. It is okay because I was able to still understand the story. I just thought you might want to know that. I do that sometimes too. I like the story's truth and harshness. It adds to the raw real emotion that comes from people being victims of rape and abuse.
