I really like this story! There are always two sides to the arguments of immortality - the side of the 'souless beast' and the side of the 'wise and emotional.' You managed to make the latter very convincing instead of just throwing some overly-angsty teenaged sob story twist to it like many people do, and I think that's a good thing. Two thumbs up for your skilled writing and your originality!
