This is very very good! It shows such powerful emotions in such a beautiful way.

i'm not overly fond of the phrase, "winter's frigid embrace", but i couldn't even tell you why so i wouldn't be concerned with it much. the rest of it is bitter and injured and trembles in a precise, satisfying way. the opening and closing lines are more than pleasing.
