"A conquest from the past." I like your use of the word 'conquest' here, it adds such a lovely historical quality to the poem.

The imagery in the third stanza is very real and chilling.

"Dah-ling." I really like that, actually. It works well for this poem--gives it an interesting twist.

I can relate to this and it's a nice poem. Not a total wow, but it's subtle and good.
