Faithless Juliet 2009-06-02 . chapter 1On the surface it appears very simple, yet I think there's so much more of a provacative nature to it.
The portrait of the old man, unloading items, in a sense, freeing himself of things. Moving objects aside. Making room for himself? While the girl, in all of her all-knowing-naivete, is in reality doing the same thing, although she's accusitaory to the man for his actions.
That's just want I got from it. I loved it.
Much love,
Juliet. |
pri 2009-02-26 . chapter 1 this one makes me cry. i have a soft spot for old men. my grandpa is awesome.
"his wallet is as lined as his face
but he pays
with a crisp green bill."
i love that juxtaposition. it's really well placed.
"he has lived,
and is no fool."
i think that line is beautiful.
the last line is gorgeous, and haunting. reminds us all that we're mortal. |
