Wow, I really like what I'm reading so far. Mendel seems really likeable, and Riyan has a pretty clear personality coming through. I like that Riyan isn't totally being forced into the marriage against her will (yet, anyway) and that they're at least starting out as friends. Now you can put all those fun "we're just friends right now but we have to have kids somehow" awkward moments in there. I can't wait to read more!

So I finally got around to reading this one! I like it:) Definitally your usual sense of humor. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

Only critics I have so far is that some of the Kings actions and statements seem a little overly abrupt - obviously he's supposed to be (again, your typical humor ;)), but especially his exit from the scene is really stiff sounding.

Other then that though, yay!

I sense a mystery coming up.. What is the palace defending? I love how you have the end note, it can be read as a supplement to the actual story.

I'm already invested in these characters and it's only been two chapters! I quite like the little footnote you added. It reminded me of a novel I love called "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" - the author did the same thing. I just love the feel it gives a story like this.
Definitely a lot of plot potential in this. I can't wait for more!

Oh boy, a new story! I'm rather excited. It's fantastic to see new stuff coming from you, though the prospect of "Saving Nicholas" rewrites is great, too.
