I love this retelling! It's a wonder you don't have some reviewer claiming that this really happened, heehee. Anyhow, great story and very well written. I'm sure the prof. will really like it. You should do more of these :) Maybe do some for fanfiction as well as original fiction. That would be fun wouldn't it? Were you going to make a GoFQ challenge like that?
