Brightstarr-Bella 2009-03-14 . chapter 1Haha! Another great piece. Fun to read, actually. The second paragraph makes it sound like you are talking about something of much greater gravity than selling flowers commercially and this made the piece almost humorous.
The play on words "what would become of your purpose" and "what would become of your roots" is also great. If you were talking about anything else, then the reader would obviously think these words were talking about the future and past of a person. But here, you use those same words to describe the purpose of a FLOWER and use the word "roots" almost with double meaning.
When I read this piece, I pictured a group of scientists standing around a cold metal table with one solitary flower upon it, arguing over exactly how it should be wrapped. And then somebody sits up in their bed and we realize that they were only dreaming about this scene.
Loved it. I am immensely enjoying your writing.
