"I give up on thinking it will ever be completed."... is it referring to a specific work the reader doesn't know about? If not maybe their would be better to refer back to works.

I like this piece a lot. Your metaphors are really interesting and well done. I also like the subject here, as a writer, I can definitely relate to parts of it. I like how each paragraph worked well off the one before it. It's a really great piece.
