Reviews For: Malfunction
ireadtoomanybooks 2009-11-16 . chapter 5
;-; Poor Jonathan... I feel so sad for them.. But still, it was beautiful. Now I need a happy fic so I don't feel depressed for the rest of the night (but not in a bad way :D)

Wow, i would have never figured out the ending. This is a really good story.

::sniffle:: That was so sad! But I have to say, I all but shrieked like a little girl when Jonathan started 'Malfunctioning'. Crepy. Kind of like one of the scenes in those horror movies... don't you think? Maybe not...

I really, really love robot stories, and so I was kind of drooling, and cackling to myself when we found out that Jonathan was a robot... until he died of course. That wasn't quite as funny. Mm, the really nicely placed, Sci-Fi stuff was brilliant, by the way. ::drowns you in drool:: Mostly, I avoid science fiction, because the authors tend to get overly wordy about all their clever new creations, and I end up skimming long paragraphs about exactly how the Telamawhatsit works. But hugs and a cookie to you! You just slipped everything neatly in, from the high-tec cars and phones to the rarity of actual, human laborers. This also gave a little bit more realism to the story, because, why should I believe that Galen, who has probably lived with these things all his life, would stop to remark (lengthily) on how spectacular his Telamawhatsit is?

The bittersweet ending (because Jonathan was definitely happy for a moment there) was really great. Better I think, than just a straight out, sad ending. It tugged the heartstrings a bit more, and made me feel satisfied, rather than cheated (as hastily thrown in, attempts at tragedy will occasionally do).

Anyways, excuse my excessive word vomit. My reviews (when I remember to review, that is), have the tendency to become rather long-winded (and sometimes nonsensical...). At least it's not 'OMG, LOL'? But when I saw that this only had one review, I just had you spew a bit more word vomit in your direction (and remind me never again to use that simile, it's disgusting). Brilliant work!

Cheers!

A wonderful story with really heart-breaking ending, especially when for Jonathan this was a happy ending, sort of, which emphasised the sadness even more.
