I am a self-confessed lurker. I don't usually review. When I do, it's because I'm really moved.
This is an awesome piece. I'm not sure what else to say beyond that. Criticism-wise, I mean. Just... All your pieces have a great sense of humor and an awesome twist to them that them your stories so different than most others. This story, though, I think might be my favorite. We all get tired of hearing about childhood sweethearts, but you take that love and turn it into something better, more gritty and real.
So. Um. Thank you, for putting your works out there for the rest of us to read.

Oh my God, Ren. Apart from the wonderful humor that made me laugh so hard that I accidentally swallowed the huge piece of ice that I was chewing on, I appreciated the hints and touches of not-so-happy moments because it made this so much more easy to relate to and it made the happy moments more precious.

And as always, your writing is AMAZING and I worship it.

I loved how you did this. How it wasn't really romantic, but it was love, all the same. How Danny and Mackenzie are challenging the usual concept of a boy-girl relationship.

And please, the chapter describing their grandmothers ... I think I cried.

Simply beautiful, and so well-done, like everything else you do.

I really loved this story. This is one of the first stories I've read in I don't know how long that wasn't all about the romance or all about being gay or being straight. Just friendship and liking who yo like because you like them. I'm so sick of the gay/straight label, especially because I personally don't ascribe it and nobody gets it when you say you're neither and just. I don't know. Stories about friendship (especially between a guy and girl) are really rare nowadays.

Sorry for the rant, but I really liked this, concept and style and all.

Insightful, quirky, funny and understanding. I like you're writing style. This story is super good!
