I like the strong beginning, it's like TV is a substitute for real life. You watch what once was, what is the ideal, while you live and fall into disrepair. :)

Well done, and very true. Although, America has been going up as far as technology goes, yet has been going down and down morally since we got here. As does any race. But yeah, it is always progressively getting worse, and I appreciate this poem because of that. My only suggestion is to put a dash at the end of the first line.
