.... 2009-10-27 . chapter 1 dudes, this is just a story written for fun no need to get your panties in a twist about generalization, some people really need to chill. The people in this story needed to be like that for the sake of the story so like wtf who even cares I think everyone knows that not all christians hate gays but thats not what this story is about.. |
onlyhalfemo 2009-09-11 . chapter 1Aw!! This was adorable! I loved it. :) I really liked how obnoxiously Catholic his family was. It just made the story so... perfect, I guess. Anyway, awesome job! Keep it up! |
NoRoadsLeft 2009-09-08 . chapter 1Very cute, indeed. Stupid Mary. You can be religious AND gay. The bible doesn't really say that homosexuality is wrong.
I was hoping that I got to meet Colin and Oliver but...sadly not. Good story though. You did the whole religion/sexuality thing very well. |
 beebee 2009-08-25 . chapter 1 i love it. |
TJamie 2009-07-30 . chapter 1Hey, it's me again! And again, with the realism. Well, it was realistic how people view gay people. And there really are people out there who are as crazy as Mary and all the other Catholics. Once, in my church, somebody got up and called gays and lesbians "villains." The bishop had to get up and tell us that we can't decide who's a villain and who's not. It was a great sacrament meeting lol. Religion and same-sex attraction, two of the most touchy subjects in the world. It's great to see them together.
Great story! :) |
 Gwee 2009-06-26 . chapter 1I found Mary's insane attitude hilarious. :'D
This is how I picture people at my church acting. I'm a Christian that actually has an open mind, though. :0
Anyway, loved the story. |
Road to Anywhere 2009-04-28 . chapter 1Just to address the religion issues, I was raised conservative Roman Catholic, and I found this to be an eerily accurate depiction of the church.
I might be saying that because I fell away from religion in general, but still. It's accurate.
BUT ON TO YOUR STORY.
I liked it, lol. :B Those two are both SUCH sweeties! I wanna snuggle both of them. I really, really do. Aw. Dev kind of reminds me of one of my friends, except that he's not openly gay. (Pretty much everyone's guessed, though. XD) But yeah, that made him incredibly endearing to me. And Luke is a great, character, too! Very human, the way he was struggling with issues of his faith and his sexuality. Awesome cast!
My favorite moment was so when Mary was trying to exorcise Luke's gayness. Just throwing that out there. :P

crack the sky 2009-04-27 . chapter 1nothing to say except AW, that was adorable and i loved it :D
oh and also, for the people who are all ranting about how not all catholics are like that, blah blah blah, i think they're idiots - because apparently, it's illegal to write a stereotype now. sure, mary's a little stereotypical, but it doesn't mean she's not realistic. people don't realize that there are actually people like this out there, i guess.
idiots.
i'm sorry haha. (: |
LimeSmoothie 2009-04-23 . chapter 1i really like this.. it's so cute and i really like Dev :)
can you please continue this... i'm really curious to know what happens next |
 ForgottenTales 2009-04-19 . chapter 1This is so cute! :D
And I kinda feel sad for Luke. why can't ppl just accept others? :( |
 Vulpine Ninja 2009-04-17 . chapter 1the start..it's a bit funny. but it's not bad at all. |
Pro-You 2009-04-10 . chapter 1I'm not a catholic, but the way you stereotype them as holy cross-wearing, 'exorcise the gay out of you' types is sort of how people stereotype that all black people come from the south, eat fried chicken and play basketball... or that all gay men sway their hips when they walk, love fashion, and pretty much act like Jack McFarland from Will and Grace.
So really, in all stories, not just this one, avoid stereotyping people from your little knowledge about them. |
Narq 2009-04-10 . chapter 1This is very CUTE and very nice!! Well done! |
misery sister 2009-04-10 . chapter 1Good thing you mentioned you didn't know a thing about Catholicism.
Because... good God, this is another example of hasty generalization/stereotyping that all Catholics wear the cross around their necks, kiss it when they hear something that is "against the word of God", say "repent" a lot, pray and shout, "in the name of he who is great and all powerful in this world" when they want to help someone out, exorcise the "bad" out of people, with parents who call gays faggots, and beat up their sons when they find out they're one.
My tip for you is this. You wouldn't write a story revolving around the world of information techonology and telecommunications if you didn't know anything about it, right? You've got to research about it otherwise you'd be commiting a lot of fallacies in your writing.
Same thing for this. Don't write about Catholicism if you haven't got a clue on what it's about, or how the people are. In general, so not just for this story, don't write a story about something you have no idea about.
This isn't a flame! for all I know, you intended for Mary's exorcism in the end to be humorous. |
Silencia 2009-04-10 . chapter 1it was cute!! I love it!! gay guys are girls' best friends, did you know that?
