 Dinsule 2009-06-13 . chapter 1This is an incredibly disturbing poem, yet it disturbs well through eloquent and appropriately subtle depiction of a tragic tale. It feels like a beautiful, tragic thought rather than a less potent, yet tragic yarn. You always manage to sneak a pervasive, infectious rhythm into your poems without, often, even the slightest hint of meter or structure.
The outside observer is an interesting, and effective touch; as an added bonus it leaves a hopeful undercurrent through the sadness that there is someone who cares for this terrorized, broken-hearted child. However, the tenor of the questions at the end gives insight into the insecurity and alien existence that can still come in the wake of even love and healing to one so maimed by evil hands, gives insight to the future of self-doubt and confusion that may overwhelm the child despite all efforts.
