This reminds me of the Lady of Shalott. If that's what you were going for, you did a spectacular job :) But if this poem has nothing to do with it, it was still very well written. Kudos!

"A princess shielded from all but herself." Powerful. The princess doesn't even trust herself. Cool idea.

I really liked the whole general idea of this poem.
