the repetition of conscience makes for a reverberating, echoing persistent tone which underlines the theme and message of the poem- skilfully done and I love the sound of the line that "we must safeguard like a miser his treasure horde".

This reminds me of last week when my dad kept turning the heat on every day, even though it wasn't needed because "it's so cold downstairs" and everyone else had to sneak around turning it off all the time like it was some sort of secret spy mission.
Seriously. He was really mad about it, as well.
