For me, this brings to mind a volkswagen driving along a road next to the sea getting assaulted by salty waves. But I can also see this interpretation being completely wrong. Either way, it's a magical poem.

To be quite honest, I don't really have an interpretation for your poem but it has such as wonderful flow to it that it doesn't matter. I do love your diction, particularly 'lugubriously', and I'm finding myself just reading it again and again.

This is an interesting little piece. The 'finned creatures with hair' made me think of mermaids. The imagery reminded me of a child playing with their toys.
