Lazy 2/16/13 . chapter 2 Thank you so much! I've had an offer to publish my novel that I've published here in fictionpress and now I know it's probably a scammer vanity publisher. This was a really helpful guide and informative _ |
Metal Flowers 12/2/12 . chapter 2Thank you for posting this! It was very informational, and I'll keep it close to heart when I START being at least average at writing, but right now I'm not even close. Again, thank you. |
A.E.C 5/21/12 . chapter 1 All I want to say is thank you for suggesting the AgentQuery website because I had never heard of it. I went, read for a bout five seconds before realizing it was the greatest website for a writer known to mankind and maybe alienkind too. Thank you again. |

Grimpeddler 11/13/11 . chapter 1This is incredibly helpful! I really like the fact that you included sites you could go to and such for publishing. This is a great guideline; you've got me very excited! :D Thanks so much for writing this! |
KittenOnTheKeys 10/21/11 . chapter 1Thank you so much for this guide! It offers some really awesome "gateway/first step" resources and great advice. |
Serativale 12/30/10 . chapter 1Thank you for writing this. It's a very helpful guide to someone clueless about publishing, specifically me. The part about electronically published stories really saved me from total time disaster, and it further straightened my goal on a future writing career. Also, thanks for the tip on vanity publishers. If you don't mind, I wanted to know more of your experiences in getting published. Or maybe other people's experiences. It would be cool to hear from people who got their books published, or from people that are trying to get their books published. |
110Million 11/22/10 . chapter 2This is one of only two sources I have about publishing my material. The other's this book I have about selling novels. I will read and reread this essay until I have everything memorized, and I WILL see my dream of publishing something come true |

annoyance 2/3/10 . chapter 1This guide was very informative. I'm glad you posted this. I will refrain from posting what I consider 'publish worthy work' here :) Annoyance |
NoAccount-Deleted 1/13/10 . chapter 1This post was very informative. In section 1, the last paragraph, you wrote that, posting a short story on FictionPress (and other sites) counts as publication. My query is: How will it affect my manuscript submission to a publisher, or agent, if I've posted a single, random "chapter" from the manuscript, as a one-shot short story? It sounds as if I will have to delete, replace, or re-write that chapter, in order to avoid the hassle of having to request permission to include it in my novel, if it were to be published by say...Doubleday, for instance. Will appreciate an answer before I post more stuff! :) |
Written 9/25/09 . chapter 1This was actually extremely informative... I'm not really thinking about publishing, but I know a lot of people on FP are, so I'm adding it to my community, you know, the one that I always add your essays to. I was interested to hear about the publishing first on FP type stuff... reminded me not to put up my best work on fictionpress or livejournal. |
Caz251 5/25/09 . chapter 1Thank you. I just want to say how helpful and easy to follow this is. I've thought about maybe writing both stories and articles for publishing, but was never really sure of how to go about getting published. Your guide/essay was a really useful insight. Again Thanx.
