I really enjoyed the depressing nature of this story as well as the sense of humor. I also liked the that fact that even though she had been "rescued" the atmosphere was still just as opressive as when she was a prisoner.
During her days with Masaccio, sometimes one event or day would jump to another without warning or a break to symbolize the beginning of a new event, because of this it was a bit confusing at first. Then again, perhaps I was just reading too fast.
In any event, it was a good read.
