Reviews For: Demeter and Persephone
Isca 2009-06-09 . chapter 1
"You dismissed her agony with cold laughter and frost on the window panes." This is definitely an excellent line from the perspective of Demeter, since she refused to nourish the earth, and thus, brought death into the world.

"Persephone remained in your fiendish embrace." It's sad to think that Persephone was abducted by Hades. I'm sure any mother would feel pained by this act.

"You thought nothing could escape you." This is the best line of the poem. The tone is perfect. Demeter, the Earth-Mother Goddess, never expected her daughter to be away from her. This is also a great metaphor for life--parents often have a hard time of letting their children go.
