Great story, I just have one tiny little thing that I want to tell you about:

"Ladies and gentleman, please settle down," Principal Webster demanded and suddenly, I could hear the crickets(metaphorically speaking, of course). Principal Webster just has that affect on people, in fact, he always has had that affect on people.

The 'affect' should be 'effect' because its talking about the effect it has not how it affects it.
