This is very good. Excellent writing quality and the world so far seems very good, with a cool mix of light and dark elements. I can't say anything about the story, though, yet. Definately looking forward to more though.

Great chapter again. I love your, well, Ocotillo's theory of what magic is! The plot is really starting to get good.
One thing, maybe you could put a seperater between different part of each chapter.
For example, although the story still flowed story, I had to look twice to be sure that the time had changed after Ellies night hearing the wolf.

Other than that little pointer, it was great!
