The song is brilliant. The lyrics are well interspersed throughout the story. My advice would be to tweak the character of Death. He's an interesting fellow, but to make him nothing more than someone who enjoys watching death, is to reduce him to the ranks of serial killers and common criminals. There needs to be an extra dimension, I feel, for a character as dark and ominous and grand as this.

Otherwise, very well written. Kudos.

First, let me say this would be a much better read if the insert in italics wasn't a song. Although the song may be "appropriate" for the subject, I think its a bit too...culturalized with the song in it.

But the way you personified death was very good. Usually in shows and books and whatnot these days, he/she/it has been portrayed as an empathetic being who can care about humans, but I love the way you chose to go with the older style of "I kill humans, I love it" emotionless one.
