Just an opinion, feel free to ignore it.
I'm sorry but this is ridiculous on so many levels and I almost stopped reading after your first chapter.
I just hope that you're either taking the ** or wrote this a while ago.

a) some depth would be nice
b) try conveying what you want the reader to think about certain things/people rather than just stating it
c) don't restate specific details within a few paragraphs (i.e when you're describing her parents - if you ARE going to state everything at least refrain from repeating yourself as well)
d) you can't have it both ways, she cannot be an amazing fighter capable of besting a non-human, have no emotional ties to her stepdad AND get beaten and raped, pick something.

I love this story! Can't wait for the next chapter
