sharks don't sleep 2009-09-18 . chapter 1
I read this back in July. So I guess it's out of context, out of summer now, but I like it with an autumn feel. Or a winter-is-coming one. You know what I mean.
I especially like the word ooze because I hate that word in anything and just today I wrote a poem with the word "fizzing" in it and was shocked that I liked it that way -- in a poem.
"Staining memory".
That's the best part. The best two words of the whole thing.
Stains are all over this, if you meant that or not. Things that aren't there anymore -- stains, ghosts, sounds, balance, sight, sun, home.
I don't know why I didn't notice that in July and tell you, but better late than never. :)

"Hotels haunted by ghosts that we only thought we’d envisioned." I really liked this line - it was fascinating that the speaker thought she was 'delusional' in some way for seeing the hotel-ghosts float by. Good imagery - it's pretty eerie and philosophical.
