Lara Smith 2009-11-22 . chapter 15 I was looking for an update a few weeks back but since I don't have an account I didn't know you had written more. Sometimes I check and author's don't update and I think they gave up, but since you say yours is done.. I have hope.
This chapter was emotional. I like the way that Cole admitted that he realized now that he had always felt a need to keep her. I think the love seed was there but it was nourished as a friendship flower for all those years. I also like that she's not dropping everything for him immediately because these are two adults who think a little differently than kids do.
By her flashback I can guess Joe isn't going to let her go and she might not even be willing to pull away definitively. I just hope that Cole knows how to pull the right way and not give up. If she hadn't admitted that she loved him or given a return physical demonstration then I'd be keen on accepting him letting go without too much fighting, but given their feelings are mutual I hope he can salvage that against all odds.
She says that she owes Joe and that is a very powerful feeling of guilt for a woman. Many women stay in abusive relationships because they feel they owe the bad man something. It's a very vicious cycle. I'm a social worker so I see this every day.
I think he should steal her away to the yellow Victorian house Cole said he knew existed... unless he was speaking figuratively.Yet it would make such a cute scene. Him kidnapping her to go see the house saying, "This is where we'll live. This is our kitchen, this is our bedroom" blah blah. Women like seeing they'll fall into something sure.
Don't mind me too much. I think I read the story was completed so I don't expect much than what you've already stringed together. Look forward to more. Hopeflly this week? |
candiesnbunnies 2009-11-17 . chapter 15FINALLY! I can't believe Cole finally realized his feelings and confessed! He finally opened up, and god did he do it right. The way he said he loved her, his actions… it really showed his strong feelings for her.
I kinda like it that you're making it difficult for Cole, like, Victoria won't say yes straight away. It's believable and I like it that she's not making it easy for Cole because he made it hard for her before.
But really, I loved how he confessed, and the fact that he proposed! This chapter is full of romance. This is what we've all been waiting for. I think you've done a good job putting the confession in this chapter, not too precipitate, not too late either. The chapters you've done so far, before this one, made us want to read more, to get to this point. And you gave us what we wanted. Worth the wait. Good job!!
I really really LOVED this chapter. |
icedbabe 2009-11-06 . chapter 14 wheres the next chap?! |
candiesnbunnies 2009-10-30 . chapter 14I finally understand what's on Cole's mind. He is kind of dense, isn't he? I mean, she had given him pretty obvious hints. But it's his charm... kind of.
He was playing on the safe side when he told her about Joe, but I liked how he's finally realizing he wants Victoria. And so good she finally let the truth out, now it's up to Cole and, well, also Victoria but I'm hoping Cole will do a grand gesture or something of the like, you know, something chick-flick-like. I'm really hoping he'll get over his fear or whatever's stopping him from not telling Victoria his feelings.
I actually loved this chapter, it let everything out and I could feel their emotions. Really good. |
Lara Smith 2009-10-25 . chapter 13 I started reading this yesterday and one of the qualities that I like is credibility. These feel like real adults (as opposed to a teen writing adults which ends in failure to associate) so I assume that you're older or at least a mature teen who can grasp the concept of adult choices. I can see why Cole didn't choose her in the past as well as I can see why Victoria doesn't run to his arms now. Both had/have a need filled with different people who were there at the right place.
I feel like a part of Victoria wanted to feel what it would be like to be with Cole (even if they didn't go as far as sleeping together which tends to be the norm) without worrying it would affect her choice. That too is very credible. In an admission hidden behind anonymosity I too would plunge with my first love without ever thinking of ending my engagement.
I would probably like to see if the bottled up passion will spill forth between these two since she has loved him for years and he hasn't been with anyone in a while. Given the whole soul mate aspect of this story it would be quite beautiful to see. Moreover, for a man, it might set him to fight for what he feels is now his.
Joe is a complex character. Sometimes I feel he loves her and others like he just wants to win. I wonder what he was like before he had something to brag about (his profession etc.) Did he change with fortune?
The hopeless romantic in me hopes for more soon. This is a great story to read by the fire and live our romantic unaccomplished dreams to. |

 Kit-Kat Punk-lover 2009-10-24 . chapter 1From the Review Game~
Characters: Your characters have a sense of depth to them, which is very good for the opening of the story. Though the story needs to develop more to truly see their aspects, for now they are good.
Dialogue: Though I felt it could have been a bit stronger, overall it paired up with the characters well and showed their traits. Also, describing the way they talked was a nice move.
Writing: It's nice how the writing and the dialouge and the descriptive narrative all pairs up quite nicely with eachother. Work to develop each of these feilds more, but they flow wonderfully well together.
Relationships: While thre relationship between Cole and his twins is natural and very balanced, the relationship between Cole and Catherine seems forced and strasined. It doesn't appear from your writing that it's supposed to be that way, so maybe work a little more on making their dialogue together flow better and seem less uneased.
Overall: A nice beginning :) |
RarahSarai 2009-10-22 . chapter 13Oh boy the wheels r finally turning. I cant wait until he realizes what a jerk Joe really is! Ahh I want a new chapter so bad!! |
candiesnbunnies 2009-10-17 . chapter 12I love Cole and I want Victoria to end up with him, BUT he is so damn infuriating. He won't fight for her! It's like he doesn't even care... she deserves someone who will do anything and everything for her (every girl does).
Note to Cole: love you dude, but step up or get lost.
Ooh, and Joe stepped up at the end. Points for him on that. I mean,I hated him at the beginning but then he seems ok. I mean, like Vic says, nothing exciting but at least he's there.
I really do hope Cole steps up though, 'cause he's uber amazing. Love Jason and Jarred! Those kids sound so cute! Damn, Vic and Cole so deserve to be together, the situation is killing me, can't wait to see what happens! Good job B. J. Winters!
PS: LOVE THE STORY LOTS! |
MarieAnn 2009-10-15 . chapter 12I liked the scene with Victoria helping Jason and Jarret. The twins are funny and cute. I feel bad for Cole and Victoria regarding the whole situation. It seems like they're at a dead end. I wonder what'll happen next.. |
MarieAnn 2009-10-14 . chapter 11Great writing! I really like how it's not a typical cliche but it's more complex than that. |
RarahSarai 2009-10-08 . chapter 11You know I love this story...its romantic and for once its not just an easy "Hey I love you happy ever after..." Anyhow I cannot wait to meet Joe. I hope the family sees through to his true nature and if they dont I hope Joe screws up infront of Cole. I do believe Cole has a big protective instinct when it comes to his kids and woman.
He reminds me of the men in Christine Feehan's Dark series. Great books you might like them...they are a little on the side of paranormal/vampires but they are very good novels. Her website- incase your interested- offers the first chapter to all her books and thats how I got so hooked on her novels.
/
Once again I love the story and I hate being rushed to put new chapters out...but please hurry! Lol I enjoy all of your stories so much and truely I have never been captivated by stories on the net for so long. You've got me hooked!
Sincerely,
RarahSarai |
Queen of the vampires 21 2009-10-07 . chapter 11oh boy i hope everything works out |
RarahSarai 2009-10-06 . chapter 10OMG! Ah...she needs to get her phone...or better yet Cole could answer it and find out how bad her fiance is...Oh please hurry with a new chapter on all your stories! I cant wait!! |
