Needs to be edited and revised a bit more; few spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes. Not too bad, I like this book. I hope to see more for the future. :)

I didn't think the ending was cheesy at all. No worries. I think it's a good last line. Makes the reader think.
I'm interested in seeing where this story goes. I know for a fact I like Kim already. What awaits her out in the world, I wonder? Nice beginning.

Way too many spelling errors. The first chapter should always be checked once, twice and thrice for misspellings. The first chapter is the first impression, and if there are a lot of spelling errors and awkward sentences, that's a bad first impression. Now, for the actual plot its self, I think you have something going here. It seems kind of interesting and I would continue reading if you continue writing. Remember not to be redundant with your words, it drives me bonkers!
