Louis Denair 2009-08-31 . chapter 1
"New America, same old wife. " Well, I'm glad you aren't stricken with the rave of feminism too severely 'coz that would be just so cliche.

Love the metaphor of marriage to present the problem of the soaring toxins of monetary concerns in a society that just isn't what it used to be, anymore. Yeah, a country is a bit like a marriage. The husband- economy and the wife- humanity(or vice versa) gotta work it together in a balanced, quid pro quo, I got your back and you got mine kind of relation. If either gets ahead and leaves the other behind- well tough luck for you 'coz there ain't no divorcing the dollars from humanity. They are bound together by a bond severely more persevering than a meaningless certificate and a bent piece of metal.

"Takes the babies and throws them away." Wow. I love reading intense stuff like this.

I am floored, once again. This is such a powerful poem--the third verse is particularly strong. But then again, so is the whole poem.

this hot struggle for
connection in a world;
no, within skins and
organ-systems of

dissolution; separation, where
minds can't merge but only
glancingly meet in tangent and

political battlefields hotly
contested stream out of fear
and misguided paranoia.
