oh, the D.A.R.E. kids...fifth grade memories...yuck. I like how you take things so familiar in this and turn them into something with a morbid undertone. I also found my new favorite lines, "And the sun fucks the street./the sun fucks us all, really." It has a rhythm to it, and it's so true-100 degrees always fucks everything up, I hate that. So you did a good job of letting me relive some yucky fourth of july memories. Love the "with dead dogs at my side:" that whole bit was really inventive.

This is so...powerful. Love the narrator's feel of exclusion and the general observations made. Some lines here are really amazing. You seem to capture the dark and putrid undertones of life incredible well. I love that, like I love your style. As always, great job.
