"who am I today?" stunning. do we change on a daily basis? do we expect to look in the mirror and meet yesterday?
"was I not an idol? no, just an illusion," melancholic. is idolatry but an illusion? to us or to the one who idolizes?
"I won't die for what people think I ought to be." I adore your determination! what a beautiful statement. from this line downward I felt like cheering for the writer. it brightened my mood and I am content not all poems are so angsty.
