Maria Patenaude 2009-10-24 . chapter 7Very powerful. Aside from that, I'm fairly speechless. I don't know how I'd ever be able to stand seeing my mother empty like that. |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 9I'm not fond of bitter coffee myself. Reminds me of a hermit who lashes out but is really lonely inside. They might need sugar and milk to disperse the void in thier hearts. |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 8Depending on where you are, cooler weather can remind one of many things: sad things, happy things, or it could be a time for contemplation for Spring. |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 7The trials and joys of growing up...it's too bad, did the man's mother have dementia or Alzheimers? That's probably not relevant...It would be scary if someone I loved forgot about me... |
 Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 6LOL...wow. |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 5Bright colors, wings, and a warm sun...oh yeah, way cute! Is it just you? |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 4I feel the same way about Michael Jackson sometimes. |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 3I have read and re-read this work of art at least 10 times, not kidding-it's very intricate. I scanned the words the first time I read it and then I started really reading it...It is very reminiscient of Death Note's "World By Nightmare,". It seems to speak of the intensity of Light's final kill-to get rid of Near and then we find out that he's thinking of the consequences of the place he will go to after using the Death Note. It's a tour of another part of him like there's a Yami Light (Dark Light) and a Hikari Light (Light Light, lol). Sorry for this being so long. I hope you might understand it. (*^o^*) |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 2The narrator was full of pain-she couldn't comfort her friend at all...it seems that she sank deeper and deeper into her own quicksand until someone could pull her out, but I doubt that just anyone can. Please, pull her out slowly. Show her that she is still is loved. That's the feelings I get from reading this poem. |
Sakura Reyna 2009-10-13 . chapter 1I wonder who this woman is. |
Punslinger 2009-10-11 . chapter 9 "Long Forgotten Mother" shows wisdom and feeling beyond your age and experience. Bravo!
"Sadness" might have been a good mood piece, if you had made me feel the mood.
"Bitter Coffee" The poem, like the coffee, starts strong and bitter, then ends weak and sweet. I guess it's all a matter of taste. |
Faithless Juliet 2009-10-11 . chapter 7This is an interesting reflection of human nature. It’s tragic, yet at the same time realistic. I liked how you spanned the entire life time of the boy, and most of the life of the mother. I also liked how you showed her sacrificing comfort and such for the sake of her child. It formed a strong bond between her and the reader.
I think the ending was a little drawn out, and it was hard for me to get into it. At first you start off describing the mother and her life, then almost abruptly it shifts into the son’s situation. I think that change in narration threw me a bit. But other then that, a nice read. Keep up the good work.
Much love,
Juliet. |
April Hare 2009-10-11 . chapter 2I wonder how that makes him feel, the fact that she's going to cry. Poor them. Either this third guy was her ex, or she was cheating on the narrator, or I'm completely wrong. |
April Hare 2009-10-11 . chapter 1I've met people like this girl. They're annoying. I like the analogy between her fingers playing with the strap of her bag and the way she plays around with lies. Another thing I like is the way you describe her searching people's faces to see if they believe her. The fluidity is perfect. |
Punslinger 2009-10-01 . chapter 6 THis is a well-composed poem. But it is hard to respect something that disrespects its subject. |
