This is so beautiful. I've read it several times and every time I think the same thing. It's like it's curious in a morbid way, and then the ending line hits and you're totally blown away.

"What can an inanimate object do, after all?

And then: ignition."

It's as if you're saying "how can this hurt me? How is it doing it?" and then "I'll hurt it more than it ever hurt me."

Honestly, this is beautiful.
