An interesting poem, I'm not sure if it's about self immolation, or if that's used as a metaphor. I love the first part, up to 'drawing darkness' particularly. The way you discribe it as an humiliated animal.
The middle part is quite ambiguous, which is fine, I'd rather not fully understand a poem, than it be spelled out in the simplest of language, it gives me more to think about.
