i love the concept, and the plot, as well as the ending are amazing. It just feels like a rough draft, and it could use some work, especially in your diction and sentence fluency. Also, make it a little more realistic. dont be afraid to make your story shorter or longer as necessary, the story is only as good as you write it. if you ever need any other help or questions, feel free to ask me.

This was a really good story -- short but sweet, with a lot of tension and emotion involved despite the length. It definitely had a strong impact at the end, and the final lines are very powerful and fit the story perfectly. I absolutely love the song Mama, and this fit the mood and idea of that very well. The idea of a soldier writing to his mother in the horror of wars is touching, and the idea of him returning home to find her dead is simply heartbreaking. Very well done.
