I have to admit, this sounds very original. Of course, I know there are a lot of magical manga stories here, but this sounds different and has a feel like Pokemon, Duel Masters (or any monster raising series, whatever you prefer).
Everything is good: character discription (including the 'Tori'), original interesting background story and promising epilogue.
I believe this will attract a lot of attention, particurly for lovers of the 'magic' genre.
So yes, I think you have to carry on, since the beauty of showing of what you can can and will unexpected surprises and praises. There's something for everyone.
